Pont ar Daf (path to Pen y Fan) footbridge removal, 5 Jan

We’re received the following message from BBNPA:

“We will be removing the bridge at Pont ar Daf on Friday 5th January following damage caused during recent storms. The bridge is being removed for public safety reasons. The National Trust have a diversion in place for walkers and the site staff in the car park will be on hand to advise visitors. We are working to get the bridge replaced as soon as possible and will update you on any developments.”

    • Hi Diana, sorry we don’t have any information on the diversion – try the National Trust (although at present it should be easy enough to wade across the ford next to the bridge; or to walk a little way up the road to the alternative path via Storey Arms…).

  2. 26 Jan 24: When I got to where the bridge was I was advised to go back to the Storey Arms and walk up from there by a NT member of staff because of soil erosion or walk across the river. I walked across the river and got wet feet on the way back.
