We have received the following message from the National Trust, which may affect providers taking groups into areas such as Rhosili and the Pen y Fan area. We are also aware that they have recently been handing out flyers to groups in these areas.
“As the coordinator of all 3rd party events across the Brecon and Gower National Trust portfolio, I am writing to highlight an important requirement for any third-party event organisers planning organised activities that cross National Trust property. To ensure the protection of these special landscapes and to maintain a positive experience for all visitors, organisers must seek prior permission from the National Trust before proceeding with such events. This applies to activities including, but not limited to, guided walks, endurance challenges, cycling events, and other group-based adventures. As part of the permission process, we kindly ask that organisers complete an Exchange of Information Form and share proposed event dates in advance. This helps us to manage land use effectively and avoid clashes with other scheduled events. Please could you share this information with your network and encourage all event planners to contact the National Trust as part of their planning process using the email: brecon@nationaltrust.org.uk to discuss their plans and obtain the necessary approvals. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to preserve the natural beauty and accessibility of the Brecon Beacons for everyone.”
