Loonies’ Leap NEW unstable stonework

We’ve been advised by one of our members that some of the stonework supporting the jumping platform at Loonies’ Leap is loose. This is much more significant than the odd ‘loose stones’ that we’ve seen previously at the top of the jump site; these are some of the large blocks forming the pillar itself (on the face of the wall that is parallel to the flow, a few feet above water level. It’s not immediately evident whether these loose blocks affect the structural integrity of the platform, but we’ve reported to BBNPA who will get it checked out. In the meantime, please inspect and make your own risk assessments before using the site. If you’d like more information about the reported damage, please contact coordinator@swoapg.com
