The National Trust has just issued the following message: “We are aware of a wildfire burning near Pen y Fan. We have closed the car park at Pont ar Daf and are asking people to stay away from the area until further notice. Our ranger teams are in contact with the local fire service and are monitoring the situation closely”.
Our latest information is that the fire has been upgraded to Cat 3 – which means it’s out of control – and is heading for the main summits. We also understand there may be other wildfires currently active in and around the National Park…
