Sychryd Gorge Cascades hazard – changes to water flow indicate instability in river-left rock face

Thanks to Black Mountain Activities for the following information and photographs:

“Changes have occurred on The Cascade river left, loose rocks and change of water course! You may remember last season a large amount of rock fell at the entrance [top] of the cascades river left (making it wider); water is now coming through the rocks [lower down], which indicates cracks [throughout the river-left wall].”

Please continue to exercise caution in the Cascades area, which now appears increasingly unstable; and consider stay out of water course whilst moving up the first section.
