Residentials Update (Take 3!)

Further to our earlier posts – which suggested initially that everything looked set for residentials resuming on Mon 7th June – then questioned whether this was in fact the case following the Welsh Government’s announcement today…

…we can now confirm our current understanding that the “phased move to alert level one” announced by the First Minister today did not include the expected extension to a ‘rule of six’ for indoor accommodation, so it seems that we are currently still limited under level two conditions to the rule of single-household occupancy for bedrooms and tents.

The Welsh Government has, however, stated that they “will consider further changes to the regulations on indoor activity later in the month, if public health conditions allow [including] the rule of six for meeting indoors in private homes and holiday accommodation…”.

We appreciate this is very disappointing news for residential centres who had been led to believe that the rules were likely to be changed on Monday.
