As agreed at our recent AGM, SWOAPG is introducing a monitoring form so that we can gain information about significant ‘incidents’ that may be occurring with our members – particularly in the Waterfall Country gorges but also in other areas we use. The types of ‘incidents’ we’d like to monitor include:
- serious accidents to member(s) of your own groups (NB this is for monitoring purposes only, you must of course also report these through the usual processes);
- interactions with members of the public (e.g. advice or assistance given to them, confrontations, observations); and
- environmental harm (e.g. damage that you find, damage that you see being caused).
We’re encouraging all our Members to please use this form (it will open in a new tab – and will also be available from the ‘Interact’ tab on our website) to either log individual incidents as they occur, or provide a summary of incidents you’ve been involved in over a period (e.g. an annual review). We’ll keep the design of the form under review and will amend it based on data received.
NB we are also separately asking gorge users for summary ‘public interaction’ data for the last 12 months as part of this year’s gorge sign-up process.
