With apologies for the short notice, this would be a useful workshop for SWOAPG Members to attend and share ‘best practice’ for delivering activities during Covid-19 recovery.
Pembrokeshire Outdoor Charter Group is hosting a Zoom workshop on Thursday 2 July, 10am-12pm for adventure activity sector businesses and instructors to learn about the most current guidance and share thoughts on what is the best way for the sector to begin operating again when the time is right (this was to be limited to businesses in Pembrokeshire but has just been opened-up to SWOAPG and Snowdonia-Active Members).
There will be short presentations on the current guidance and approaches from key stakeholders and then we will have breakout sessions (approx. 30 mins) in smaller groups to discuss and share thoughts on how we can approach beginning to deliver activities again in the safest way to protect our clients and ourselves.
Speakers will include:
- Visit Wales – providing an update on Welsh Government ‘Guidance for the Visitor Economy’ and where tourism sector is headed / key dates (the purpose of this newly-published guidance is to inform businesses working in the visitor economy in Wales of ongoing legal restrictions and requirements related to the coronavirus, and to help them re-open when this is allowed. It also links and signposts other relevant sectoral specific guidance).
- Outdoor Alliance – highlighting the ‘Post Covid-19 Guidelines and Recovery Matrix for Adventure and Sports provision in Wales‘ (this document considers adventure sports activity in the post Covid-19 recovery phase and in doing so offers generic advice and guidelines for the safe and responsible return for outdoor recreation providers and businesses together with a summary matrix of how outdoor recreation activities (participation and provider-led) can be resumed in accordance with Welsh Government Guidelines as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Its aim is to provide an ‘at a glance’ guide to how different activities can be re-introduced for both participation and provider-led activities).
Registration is required for the event so please sign up today to ensure your space on the workshop
