Further to our recent post on the new earthworks at Torpantau Tunnel, we have been informed that “the boulders at Torpantau tunnel have been placed there by Brecon Beacons National Park Authority (BBNPA) to prevent access to the tunnel by motorbikes – which had become a significant problem last summer. BBNPA are aware the tunnel is used by groups, so it is still possible to access the tunnel [on foot]. The main approach track to the tunnel and to the boulders has been steepened to prevent motorbike access too.”
