Is there more we can do (to help us continue to earn a welcome) at Dinas Rock…and elsewhere?

NRW has recently highlighted to us an ongoing issue with litter at Dinas Rock car park. All of us who use this site will have noticed an increasing amount of litter, discarded clothing, and human waste being left on site, which is becoming a concern both from an environmental and visitor experience perspective.

NRW appreciates that there are many visitors in this area who are not with organised groups – but nevertheless wants to reinforce to gorge groups the importance of taking all litter and unwanted clothing home with them, since this could be really helpful in reducing the problem.

We can all be forgiven for thinking “it’s not my mess so I shan’t clear it up”, but with a little forethought (keeping black bags in the vehicle or sack!) and just a little time on each visit, we could all help to make a difference by clearing up not just after our own groups, but by those who’ve gone before (especially if we’re the last to leave for the day) – leaving things as we’d like to find them on our return.

Isn’t this the least we can do in return for the ‘free access’ we have to the many outdoor venues in which we work and play?
