Just in case any of you are running trips on the lower Wye, we’ve received the following from the Environment Agency:
“Please be advised of the attached fallen tree hazard which is creating a dangerous ‘strainer’. This is an obstruction which is particularly dangerous at the river heights being experienced in the current low flows and levels. An assessment of how to safely remove it is currently underway but also limited by access as there are arable crops awaiting harvest in the adjacent field. Please brief your customers accordingly and give consideration to routing novices away from the problem.”
