Group-led caving activity in Wales “can recommence from May 3rd”

The following advice has just been issued by the British Caving Association:

“We have received confirmation from the Welsh government that led caving and mine exploration activities in Wales can recommence from May 3rd. We await definitive dates for England, but following the same criteria, May 17th looks likely. It remains essential that all [cave leaders], when planning and running sessions, remain vigilant in checking devolved government websites to ensure guidance and any limitations (such as the number of participants) are understood and followed, and that travel and hospitality restrictions are respected. All sessions run must also be conducted in a ‘Covid Safe’ manner; thorough risk assessments remain paramount to safety, which should include protective measures to keep yourself, clients and any third parties safe and at all times. A ‘Covid roadmap’ for recreational caving in England can be found on the BCA website https://british-caving.org.uk/category/news/.”
