Clun Gwyn Car Park – planning appeal

SWOAPG Members may be aware that the owner of the ‘overflow parking’ field opposite Clun Gwyn layby applied for planning permission to make this a permanent car park – which was refused by BBNPA for a variety of reasons (see Microsoft Word – 1106467-23.22058.FUL Refuse_FUL_with_Notes). He is considering appealing against the refusal and would welcome any letters or e-mails of support for the car park proposal from Providers. If you’d like to lend your support to the case, please get in touch with us and we’ll pass on the landowner’s contact details. NB SWOAPG will not be providing a consolidated response because (a) we believe this is a finely balanced case, where the benefits of better facilities could be outweighed by an increase in visitors to the area – so we don’t feel it’s our place to make a judgement on behalf of Providers; and (b) our Coordinator has a conflict of interest as he is a member of the BBNPA Planning Committee – so we think it is better for Providers to contact the landowner directly if they wish to offer their support in this case.
