Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has advised us that they’ve received a few complaints about paddlers from anglers at Usk Reservoir, particularly those using the launch site ‘in the woods’. They (DCWW) do appreciate the difficulties of ‘sharing the space’ and that mutual respect is a two-way thing; however they’ve requested that we bring the following to the attention of users launching ‘in the woods’:
- Please do your best (and brief your groups) to give anglers a wide berth, so as to reduce conflict (and/or consider using the alternative launch site at the southern end of the dam – as long as the water level is well below the spillway); and
- Consider heading quickly across the sheltered bay to the southern shore for tuition and games, since this is a wooded area where angling is not possible.
Thanks!
