Please be aware of a significant rock movement at the entrance to Porth yr Ogof.
The escape route on river right by the main entrance, at the gap you climb through there is a tree growing on the rock to the left. The block under this tree has moved around 3cm in the last 8 weeks, if the block comes down the tree will land on the entrance path (and anyone on it at the time).
There have also been other large blocks fall onto the path recently, so keep aware of this hazard from both sides.
I would like to remind all users of the cave that the route on river right where the movement has occurred is an emergency exit only.
The route is on private land and only to be used as an emergency exit when no other option is available.
No action is planned on the block and its natural process will continue, exacerbated by regular footfall if use by groups continues.
The photo below shows the block, the inset pebble at its base shows the movement that has occurred.
