Following our earlier notice (below), we now have more information thanks to recce visits by a couple of our Members. The rockfall is on the main path from the car park just before Bwa Maen. The footpath from the car park is fenced-off with a no-entry sign – so we must regrettably advise gorge-walkers not to use this section of the Sychryd for the time-being, until NRW gives the all-clear (the top waterfall area is still accessible over the hilltop path; and the Sychryd below the car park , as well as the lower Mellte, is unaffected). Thanks to Drock for the attached pictures and video.
NRW has notified us that the Sychryd trail is closed until further notice due to a rockfall. We have no further information so can’t say how this will affect gorge-walking groups (or access to Will’s Hole cave) – so if anyone can shed more light, please let us know! In the meantime, please be aware that gorge-walking activity may be curtailed or prevented altogether in the Sychryd gorge for the time being…
