On the 23/09/18 if conditions allow we will be working with the Weightlifting Wales and GB Paralympic team. The aim is to undertaking a gorge walking session on the Sychryd however the whole aim of the activity is to get 1 disabled Paralympic athlete through as a breaking boundaries exercise and at request from weighting lifting wales.
We will be operating a 10:1 group ratio with 15 participants that will be assisting throughout the activity and a 1:2 for the lady with disabilities. We will be aiming to have an additional assist with a wheel chair following along the path to give us easy Egress back to carpark if needed, however due to her disabilities (paralysed waist down) we will be working with her to manually assist her through this environment in accordance to her & group safety and working this the regulations of the SWOAPG concordat.
We are proving this information for SWOAPG to understand what we are doing and to inform other providers of the challenge that’s going to be undertaken on the day and not to be alarmed as will have provisions in place on the day for all eventualities, we will be in contact with Brecon Central Mountain Rescue to inform them of this challenge too.
