SWOAPG Members who have paid their full membership renewal may now complete (after first logging-in to our website with your ‘business’ account):
- the 2026 Gorges Signup (required from 1 April), after which we’ll issue new gorge ID cards as soon as possible (in the meantime please keep using the dark blue 2025 cards); and
- the 2026 Waterfall Country Short Notice Activity list (as announced in last year’s message Could you offer short-notice activities to visitors in Waterfall Country?).
The gorges sign-up form:
- will only be visible to providers who have paid full 2026 membership (see SWOAPG Membership, Gorge Sign-Up and Reservoir Passport Renewals due on 1 April);
- asks you to confirm agreement to the MoU and Access Behaviour Agreement (as announced in our recent post Waterfall Country Gorges Sign-Up: Preparatory Reading) and that you have adopted all the measures covered in the updated ‘template’ risk assessment attached below, so please check that your own risk assessments and/or operating procedures address all these points;
- asks you to confirm that all gorge leaders have completed the 2023 Code of Conduct course(s); and that you have kept up-to-date with all recent alerts concerning the gorges (see e.g. Search Results for “sychryd”; and “loonies”; and “mellte”); and
- asks you to summarise the number of incidents (if any) with members of the public that you’ve been involved with over the last 12 months – as agreed at our last AGM.
If you have any difficulties with this process, please drop us an e-mail…
