Gorges sign-up reminder

We have updated the list on our website (and sent out ID cards) for current registered gorge-walking providers (see Gorge Walking) – if you’re not listed it probably means you’ve missed one of the steps below (or you’ve asked us not to publish your details)…

Just to remind you, you’ll only be covered to use the Waterfall Country gorges from 1 April 2026 if you’ve completed the sign-up process; however we do appreciate we’ve left it late this year so will allow a ‘period of grace’ over the Easter holidays (until 17 April), when you can continue to operate under last year’s sign-up and cards.

The sign-up process requires you to BOTH:

  1. Pay your full membership renewal fee; AND THEN, once we’ve received payment:
  2. Complete this year’s Sign-Up Formit’s not enough to have sent us an e-mail or posted a comment on our website!!! (For more information, see Waterfall Country Gorge Sign-Up & Short-Notice List 2026: Now Available to Paid-Up Full Members. NB Please make sure you login to the correct account when signing-up – for corporate members this will be your ‘business’ account, not your personal one used for training courses. The form will only be visible to paid-up Full Members!

If you’re not sure what you need to do, don’t hesitate to contact coordinator@swoapg.com and Steve will try to help as swiftly as he can (although he is away paddling in Scotland for a week over Easter…).

NB for Providers using the Upper Mellte, we will be checking your assurance status (AALA etc.) this year and your gorge access will only remain valid as long as your assurance is in-date. ID cards will therefore be issued in two different colours this year – pale blue for those whose assurance lasts all year (and for those only using the Sychryd); and yellow for those whose assurance expires part-way through the year (when we’ll re-issue blue cards once you’ve renewed your assurance).
