Funds for Self-Employed / Freelancers

Just in case you weren’t already aware of these:

  1. The third round of the Self Employment Income Support Scheme will open for applications on 30 November; HMRC should have already contacted you if you are eligible to apply for this.
  2. It was suggested by Visit Wales at out AGM on Thursday that some outdoor activity instructors might be covered by the Cultural Recovery Fund Freelancer Grant that become available on Monday 23 November.  This is not entirely clear from the documentation, so it may be worth testing this using the eligibility checker – bearing in mind that these grants are on a first come, first served basis.
  3.  Hot off the press is the announcement of a £1,500 grant on offer through the Sport Freelancers Fund “for self-employed and freelance workers within the sport sector whose work directly delivers activities to participants, such as sports coaches, personal trainers, fitness instructors and dance instructors”.  Applications open via the Sport Wales website at midday on Thursday 26th November and will close at 5pm on Wednesday 9th December, although this information is yet to appear on the site!
