DESCRIPTION:Come and join Brecon Beacons National Park Authority’s Geopark Development Officer\, Alan Bowring\, for an exploration of the geology and history of Blaen y Glyn gorge and its surrounding mountain area. We’ll take a circular walking tour up the Caerfanell gorge and up on to Waun Rydd (and its Wellington bomber memorial) and the summit of Craig y Fan Ddu before returning down Nant Bwrefwr to the car park [subject to weather conditions\, of course]. Participants will need suitable clothing and equipment for a mountain walk in the prevailing weather\, including packed lunch / snacks. Book ‘tickets’ or RSVP using the buttons below\, or e-mail coordinator@swoapg.com. \n\n\n\nThis is the first of a series of practical\, outdoor workshops providing opportunities for instructors and providers to learn about some of the areas we work in\, both for their own education and to enable them to help their clients to better appreciate these special places. DESCRIPTION:This 2-day Discipline Specific Training course you will focus on how to coach technical and tactical skills in Open Canoes on Moderate White Water. The course will help you plan and deliver safe\, enjoyable\, progressive coaching sessions and you’ll explore specifics to help you coach some typical learners relevant to these craft in this environment. \n\n\n\nYou need to meet the following prerequisites before attending the course: \n\n\n\nFull ‘on the water’ membership of Canoe Wales / British Canoeing (etc.);Hold White Water Canoe Leader (or former Canoe Leader / 4* Canoe leadership Award); andCompleted Core Coach Training (or the following ‘old’ British Canoeing courses\, if you feel confident with their content: Level 2 (UKCC) Training OR Assessment; Moderate or Advanced Water Training OR Assessment; Level 3 (UKCC) Core Training OR Assessment.\n\n\n\nMinimum 2\, maximum 6 candidates. \n\n\n\nVenue to be confirmed (somewhere in the Brecon area). \n\n\n\nThe course fee will be no more than £180\, which includes coaching\, equipment and certification. If more than 2 candidates attend\, I will aim to reduce this fee if I can.
