The attached notices have recently been placed by us in the Dinas changing areas (screens and village hall) as part of our responsibility to help NRW & BBNPA manage the gorge-walking concordat. If you have any concerns about these signs, please let us know.
Please note this report from Ieuan Starks of School Camp regarding climbing at Morlais Quarry:
"A large rock was dislodged by my group and would have caused sever injury if it had hit someone. There appears to be a line of loose rock 3/4 of the way up the corner climb but on the flat wall (I have not managed to abseiled in to inspect this). Please see photo attached for area marked in red. NB. This is not the abseil wall, but the next corner along (60m south) identifiable by a small tree above the flat wall."
Found Mon 14 Aug at Twynau Gwynion: a hanked rope identified with a numbered label tag. If it’s yours (or you know whose it is), let me know the colour and number on the tag and I’ll arrange to get it back to you!
Recent low water levels have uncovered a number of 40mm diameter solid metal bars sticking upwards out of the reservoir bed. All three are within a 40m stretch. As well as being a hazard now these will be more so once covered and hidden from site.
Please see map attached and pictures.
Thanks to Ieuan Starks of School Camp for this information.
